  • Cookies must be "on" in your browser.

    • If you use ZoneAlarm Pro, please follow these steps:

      • For Internet Explorer 6.0+ go to the browser Tools > Internet Options > Privacy. If there is no slider you are using the Advanced Mode. Allow optionetics.com to have cookies. If the is a slider you are using Normal Mode. Move the slider down to "Allow All Cookies" until Platinum is working then adjust later. Click the Apply button for the change to take effect.

      • For Netscape 7.01+ go to browser Edit > Preferences > Click Privacy > Coookies > Allow All Cookies.

      • Double click the ZoneAlarm Pro Icon in the tray at the bottom of your PC which brings up the ZoneAlarm Pro window.

      • Click the Privacy tab on the left side. At the top tabs which say Main and Site List click the Main tab first.

      • In the ZoneAlarm Pro Main privacy panel turn OFF all ad, cookies and mobil code control blocking.

      • Now click the ZoneAlarm Pro top right Site List Tab. Look for the site optionetics.com. Check any red x's to turn them into green checkmarks for Mobile Control and Cookie Control for optionetics.com.

      • Now look for the site: platinum.optionetics.com. If it also is shown and has any red x's, then turn them into green checkmarks for Mobile Control and Cookie Control also.

      • Close all the browser windows.

      • Restart the browser.

      • Log back into Platinum and get to the Start or Site Map page. This writes the Platinum cookie.

      • When you go to the Optionetics Platinum tab login page, the login text box should have your login info autofilled. To have it not autofilled, click the Logout link at the top right of the Platinum pages.

      • If Platinum still does not work contact john@optionsanalysis.com.

      • You can run Platinum with higher privacy settings by programming ZoneAlarm Pro in the Privacy Panel Site List and the browsers in the Privacy > Edit sections to allow cookies, ads and mobil code for the web address: optionetics.com and not for other sites. Its up to you. Read the ZoneAlarm Pro and IE manuals to learn how.

    • If you dont have ZoneAlarm Pro and want high browser privacy, go to the Optionetics Message Boards. Below the message board tab is a "search" link. Click it and search in the Platinum messages for "privacy". Follow the instructions shown.

    • After logging in to Platinum, you can erase the cookie on the PC you are using by clicking the logout link at the top right of the start page.

  • Disable or remove all Pop-Up window stoppers. Enable Javascript.
    • Examples are Pop-Up Stopper, Web Washer, AdSubtract Pro and ZoneAlarm Pro. The free ZoneAlarm does not have the Pro problem.
    • Javascript is used extensively in the Login page and Platinum.

  • Certain Firewalls cause conflicts with Platinum.
    • An example is Norton Personal Firewall.
    • Try disabling any firewall programs to see if that fixes the problem accessing Platinum.

  • Your Optionetics Message Board username and password can be different from the Platinum username and password.
    • Click "forgot my password" on the Platinum login page.
    • Enter your Platinum registration email address and click "request password"
    • Verfiy the email username and password with the one you are trying.

  • You are using old linksys router firmware.
    • This is the most common problem with Platinum cable modem users.
      • If you have a linksys router, you need to upgrade the firmware to version 1.4 or better from the website www.linksys.com. Download it and save it on your desktop or in a folder where you can easily locate it.

Before doing the actual upgrade, access your router by typing in the url 192.168.1.1 and your password or the default password in your manual. Record the router settings, because they will revert to default when you upgrade. Then disconnect all LAN and WAN connections physically (unplug them from the router) EXCEPT the computer you are using to do the upgrade. Follow the instructions that come with the upgrade in the pdf. file. It takes less than five minutes to do the whole thing.

Then reconnect your router to the cable modem and your other computers, and you should have access to all Platinum pages.

  • You are using a web accelerator.
    • A 3rd party program called "Internet Velocity" (distributed by Macmillian Software and the web site is www.internetvelocity.com) caused Platinum Futures to fail to login. If you have installed any software that try's to speed up connection speeds, and you are having trouble using Platinum, try uninstalling the software to see if that resolves the problem.

  • Your browser needs to be upgraded.
    • FireFox 1.0+, Internet Explorer 6.0+, Netscape 7.2+, Opera 7.54+ are free and have higher compatibility levels. They are also more stable.

  • You are getting a "page cannot be accessed" web page.
    • This is a common feature on many web sites, not just Platinum. Sometimes the server is temporally excessively busy or data packets get lost or there is a temporary communication bottleneck.
    • Hit the browser refresh button.
    • If that fails click the browser "back" button until you return to the origin page. Browser refresh that page and click the button or link again.

  • Try turning off your virus protection programs.

  • Try accessing Platinum using a dial-up ISP.
    • If you have a DSL or cable modem, see if the problem goes away. If the problem does go away, there is some issue with your fast web service. Try upgrading to the latest web service software and firmware.

  • You get a "connection timeout" during a search.
    • Some ISPs like AOL only allow the browser to wait for a server response for say 30 secs then timeout the connection. This happens during a search which can take 120 secs. If you have this problem go to Settings > General Settings and change the search time limit to a number lower than your ISP timeout limit.
    • Open Control Panel/Internet Options/Connections. Click the 'Never dial a connection'. Open Control Panel/Internet Options/Connections select each entry in the Dial-up list then click Settings. Once there click the Advanced button. Make sure the 'Disconnect if idle for XX minutes' and the 'Disconnect when connection may no longer be needed' checkboxes are UNCHECKED. Click OK.

*Iconized AOL and start IE or Netscape using AOL as your ISP.
