| Optionetics Platinum Welcome Page |
|
The above link brings up an example of the Optionetics Platinum stock site Welcome Page. The Welcome page is the main portal to all the Optionetics Platinum site tools. The top three rows of the Welcome page are available for you to store your own personnel stocks and saved trades with easy one click access. All help page Optionetics Platinum examples are static pages and are not functional. You must be logged onto Optionetics Platinum to try any concepts discussed in this help manual. One of the most important items on the Welcome page is the date shown on the left table. You will usually just leave the date at the default value. The default date is the date of the latest available online option data. You can change the date if you desire to do historical option backtesting. All the online help examples occur in the past and use historical option backtesting. The range of dates selectable on the Welcome page can be changed in My Personal Data. Clicking a saved trade or stock from the top three rows in the Welcome page takes you to the Risk Graph analysis of that trade at the date selected on the Welcome Page. The purpose of the remaining Welcome Page buttons is discussed next. |
| Chg My Stk List |
|
You can add or delete stocks from the My Stock List group of stocks by clicking this link. My Stock List cannot be changed by any other program and is not one of the nine Ranked Lists. Whenever a symbol name is entered on the Welcome page, it is added to My Stock List. The Change My Stock List web page behaves just like the View/Edit My Rank List web page. Enter stock symbols in the input text box provided to update My Stock List. You can cut and paste from the Edit My Rank List stock symbols list to the My Stock List stock symbols list using two browser windows or you can go back and forth between the web pages. To cut and paste:
Click the Chg My Stk List link at the top of the Welcome Page to clear My Stock List. Put at least one stock symbol in the stock input text screen and click the Save & Exit button. You must keep at least one stock symbol in My Stock List. The rest are cleared. |
| All Dates |
|
The default value for the input date is the date of the latest available option data. If you are looking for new trades or want to check the progress of saved trades, the default, latest input date, is the correct value. When you click on "All Dates" on the Welcome Page, the date selection box will be updated with all available date options in the Optionetics Platinum online database.
Four buttons on the Welcome page require a stock be chosen in the left symbol text box or the buttons will not work properly. These four buttons are: "Create An Option Trade", " Create An Option Table", "Options Table" and "Quick Search". The rest of the Welcome page buttons do not require a stock selection. The symbol text box can be left empty (the default value). A stock is selected by typing the stock symbol in the text box. If you do not know the stock symbol name, you can search for it. Enter the first few letters of the stock and click the left search button. The symbols data is displayed in the Welcome page information section. |
| Quick Search |
|
A simple tool to find trades on the Optionetics Platinum web site is the "Quick Search" button on the Welcome Page. "Quick Search" is a simple, fast way to find option trades that have a high statistical probability of making a profit if your market sentiments are correct. The Welcome page "Quick Search" button is a simplified Create A Search. "Quick Search" only looks for option combo trades that have limited losses. Choices "Go Up Big" and "Go Up" search only long calls and bullish vertical spreads. Choices "Go Down" and "Go Down Big" search long puts and bearish vertical spreads. "Go Sideways" will search Butterfly's while "Not Go Sideways" will search long straddle and strangles. None of these trades have unlimited risk. The Quick Search Manual provides all the details for using Quick Search. Click the link to the right of My Personal Data. |

If the Create A Search criteria you select form a set of criteria you want to keep, the Create A Search criteria can be named and saved for future use. This is discussed next. . |

You can build various sorted tables that rank stock options relative to many different criteria. Rank criteria include high IV, low IV, high SV, low SV, low put/call ratios, high put/call ratios and Bollinger band breakout. Options that are cheap and expensive become readily apparent. You can chain rankings where the output of one ranking can be the input into the next ranking. Links in the Create A Rank List output take the user directly to the Risk Graph analyzer for further study and trade creation. The top stocks in the ranking are automatically saved in custom portfolios: Rank Lists 1 to 9. These Rank List portfolios are choices in Create A Search for trade finding. |
| Edit My Option Table |
|
